Harlem Inner Block Park

This project examines West Baltimore’s neighborhoods, focusing on Harlem Park. The team will focus on the Parks & People Inner Blocks Project as an opportunity for ecological intervention. The goal is to study today’s conditions and perspectives and to look for ways in which urban ecological research goals and knowledge can align with community-driven planning to improve the redesign

and management of the inner block parks. While in Baltimore, the 2015 ESI fellows met with Harlem Park residents and stakeholders, and are now working with the Ecological Urban Design course at Yale University to move design ideas forward, including a community newspaper with resident-driven inner-block park designs.
